Are you looking for Blister Packaging suppliers? If so, take a look below for some valuable information that may help you in your search.

Blister Packing

A blister is a cavity formed in plastic for cost effective packaging. The item is secured between a plastic bubble and a paperboard surface. The blister card shows product uses and features while holding the product in full view to be examined by the consumer. The blister is then attached with a heat-sealing process allowing the product to be hung or displayed in various formats.

Measuring a Blister Package

Length and width measurements are made at the inside open edge of the blister's base, from one corner to the next, excluding the flange. The third dimension is always the height.

The sides of blister packing taper inward at a draft angle of at least 7 degrees to 10 degrees, making its inside top dimensions slightly smaller than its base.
To determine smallest possible card size, add at least twice the flange width plus 1/4" to blister dimensions. Allow additional space for graphics and hanger hole if required.

Clamshells

Clamshells are box-shaped containers that are thermoformed from transparent plastic. They feature a hinged lid with a positive snap closure that is reclosable and reusable. An insert card is included to explain the uses and features of the product. The clamshell design does not require a means of sealing the package to hold the product inside. The back of the clamshell can also be constructed as an easel to enable the packages to stand by themselves.

Skin Cards

Skin cards are an inexpensive way to display your product on a card to promote impulse sales of low cost items. Your product is placed on a porous rigid card with a heated film placed over it. A vacuum is applied to draw the film tightly over the product which holds it in place.

Cavity Trays

Cavity trays are stock or custom designed trays to fit the shape of a particular product. Trays can also have a number of design features, such as indentations on the sides/ends for easy removal from tight fitting shipping boxes, "stacking lugs" so parts will not be touched by the stacking of trays, finger spaces for removal of parts that "snap-in" to the cavity, and areas of the tray that can have identification words or codes/numbers embossed into them.

Another version of a tray is referred to as an insert. These are basically trays that may hold only one object, or a multiple-component item in an organized arrangement for visual effect. Typically, these trays are inserted into folding cartons or rigid presentation boxes.
